The Sunday Stitch – Isolation Inspiration from Emily Dickinson Very excited to have had one of my designs featured in the Hatch newsletter and Hatch blog this week. Even more so as it is the first of my machine embroidery designs that will be available to download – better still, it’s free!
Watcha. It was a friend’s birthday recently and she enjoys going out on the [very cold] sea and doing some competitive yachting – sounds fancy and energetic, right?! Anyhoo, I wanted to make something home crafted for her and thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to crack out the embroidery machine.
Getting the bug for this machine embroidery lark. Fancy a look at what I was up to this week…?
During the spare time that I have had over the Christmas period I have been having a little tinker with the Hatch Embroidery Digitizing software to see if I can up my skills before the new decade arrives and found some cool little features! Fancy a look?
In this video I would like to share with you how I recoloured a machine embroidery design from Urban Threads in Hatch Embroidery 2 software and then stitch it out on a Brother Innov-is 750PE embroidery machine.

Since hearing about the make your own silk screen system from Screen Sensations I have debating getting one.
I therefore hit the internet to figure out whether I should or shouldn’t.
A couple of my friends have recently moved house and I wanted to be able to send them a housewarming gift but if I’m honest, I was a bit stumped.
You see, this house move saw a massive declutter for the pair and therefore I didn’t want to go giving them more clutter when they had worked so hard at downsizing so what I was to send had to have meaning and purpose.
I, therefore, racked my brains, of which there isn’t much in working order.
This week I finally got to play with the Screen Sensation screen printing kit and I must say, I am well chuffed with the results!
In the video, I have a bit of an experiment first and then show you the colourful canvas project that you can see in the preview image.Read More »
