Today’s little creation takes us into the murky depths of the sea, to meet a colourful friend.
If you are anything like me then you have birthday’s happening in your family and friend circle all year round.
Sometime, especially towards Christmas, it’s hard to create things outside of the usual Christmassy stuff.
Well, it was my friend’s 50th recently so I decided to make a bright flowery card for her to celebrate with style.

It certainly feels like yonks since I last wrote a blog post so I just wanted to do a little post to let you know that I am still around and thinking of you :)
On Saturday I shared a cutting file for a chocolate gift box for use with the Brother Scan N Cut. This post continues on from there and features some of the chocolate “pockets” that I decorated.
This week I have been having a little colouring in session with my Spectrum Noir pens.
I didn’t start this project with anyone in mind so I chose a fairy for the design as it’s one of those universal images that seems to sit well with most people – everybody loves a fairy, right?
Welcome back to another Monday Mash Up!
This week I have been toying with using old templates again … this time I have been taking a two dimensional template and turning it into a three dimensional gift box.
This week’s Monday Mash Up really is a blending of various things.
The result though is quite ‘clean’ and classic.

This week I am trying to get another regular weekly blog post on the go. This one will be called the Monday Mash Up.
It’s the Monday Mash Up because it will involve taking all sorts of products and/or techniques and coupling them together to make a finished creation.
This week will feature a card but future weeks are likely to cover the range of creative past-times that I enjoy.
For a while now I have had a list of design ideas that I’ve been wanting to try. With a rare day off the other day I thought that I would give one of them a try.
It was a simple concept – make a teabag folding design using rubber stamps.
Little did I realise that it would become a labour of love and take up most of that day off.
It was definitely fun to do though and I was so proud of it that I thought that I would like to share it with you all.
I’ve had some basic shape dies from Spellbinders hanging around the craft room for a few months now and wondered if I could make them a feature on a card, rather than just a layer.
The set that I picked to have a go with was the Spellbinders Hexagons die set.
I recently produced a television show on Create and Craft TV that aimed to highlight the Big Knitathon which is an event to be held on the 16th November in aid of the Big Issue foundation.
Hearing how The Big Knitathon hopes to raise awareness of the role of the Big Issue seller, and funds for the Big Issue foundation, through a communal project to create the worlds biggest knitted blanket shows just how connected the creative world can be.
I genuinely struggle with knitting (although can crochet) but wanted to send Stephen Robertson, the CEO of The Big Issue Foundation, something to show appreciation for taking the time to come into the studios and being brave enough to learn to knit live on TV and so I decided to make a card to encapsulate the community spirit that he inspired in me.
I often get visits to my blog from countries other than the United Kingdom so in honour of my blog buddies worldwide I wanted to create a card as a bit of a thank you and to say hi to all of you lovely folk.Read More »
I haven’t really experimented much with embossing folders but have always liked the way that they can add interest to the background of a project so I thought that I would have a go at coming up with something myself.
This “Bird On A Branch” card was what I ended up creating – here is a quick overview of how I put it together.
I’ve been having another play with the Inkadinkado Stamping Gear and came to the conclusion that quite a few of the designs that I was making looked like doilys, so I thought that I would explore this route and see what I could create.
Here is another card sample that I made for the recent run of Spellbinders shows on Create and Craft TV using the … die set.
