SVG Saturday - Diamond Circle Mandala Style Card Front Cutting File - Featured Image

SVG Saturday – Diamond Circle Mandala Style Card Front Cutting File

This week’s SVG saturday cutting file is a simple circular Mandala style background design.

I originally thought that it would be good as a background for card fronts or as a simple frame in which to place a sentiment or central image however I am sure that those of you that do scrapbooks could always re-size it and use it as a photo frame for a special occasion or scrapbook cover.

Either way, I hope that you will get some use out of it.

Scan It Saturday - Brother Scan N Cut - Half Cut Technique - Finished Card 1

Scan It Saturday – Half Cut Technique With The Brother Scan N Cut

For sometime now we have all known how to do the half cut technique with our manual die cutting machines and I have demonstrated one way of scanning in a ready made design and converting for use with the Brother Scan N Cut however I wanted to have a little play to see if this could be achieved with the Brother Scan N Cut Canvas as I hadn’t really seen a way to do it before.

The good news is, that it IS possible.

The even better news is that it appears to have opened up other possibilities – read on to find out more!

Scan It Saturday - Creating Decorative Sentiment Plaques With The Brother Scan N Cut - 64

Scan It Saturday – Creating Decorative Sentiment Plaques From Pre-Installed Designs With The Brother Scan N Cut

It’s not often that I have the time to put together such a comprehensive blog post so I certainly took advantage and armed myself the camera (with fresh battery and empty memory card), notepad and pencil and set myself up in front of the Brother Scan N Cut.

During shows on Create and Craft I have previously demonstrated how to make decorative sentiment plaque on the Brother Scan N Cut machine using only two pre-installed shapes so I thought that I would document that technique for future reference.

This (all 60+ pictures) together with a whole load of words, is the result of a well spent morning … Enjoy!

Monday Mash Up 1 - If Friends Were Flowers Card - (1)

Monday Mash Up 1 – If Friends Were Flowers …

This week I am trying to get another regular weekly blog post on the go. This one will be called the Monday Mash Up.

It’s the Monday Mash Up because it will involve taking all sorts of products and/or techniques and coupling them together to make a finished creation.

This week will feature a card but future weeks are likely to cover the range of creative past-times that I enjoy.

A Tattoo Design Tea Bag Folding Labour Of Love - Featured Image 1

A Tattoo Design Tea Bag Folding Labour Of Love

For a while now I have had a list of design ideas that I’ve been wanting to try. With a rare day off the other day I thought that I would give one of them a try.

It was a simple concept – make a teabag folding design using rubber stamps.

Little did I realise that it would become a labour of love and take up most of that day off.

It was definitely fun to do though and I was so proud of it that I thought that I would like to share it with you all.

The Key To Happiness Rubber Stamped Card - Featured Image

The Key To Happiness (It Could Be Custard Donut Fingers…)

The key to happiness is quite elusive. According to some rubber stamps that accompanied this month’s issue of Get Stamping the message is clear, “Doing what you like is freedom; Liking what you do is happiness”.

I guess that they have a point.

Anyway, don’t worry, I’m not going to waffle on about philosophy and all that. I think that you can guess that this post is in fact about something that I made with the stamps that I got with the magazine.

Monday Mojo – Magazine Inspiration – RSVP Card

Ever have those mojo lows? I know I’ve had a couple over the last few weeks, and having talked to some of you on Facebook and Twitter, it appears that you often have the same problem. I therefore thought that I would start a little mini-series of mojo busting techniques that I sometimes use in the hope that it will help you too :)

Now, I don’t know whether it is my age, or just the need for something tangible in my hand however I have been reaching more for magazines lately than I have the internet. Are you the same? (Seems a bit weird asking that as you are reading this on the internet…)

Anyway, I recently wanted to do a bit of stamping but really didn’t know where to start (that mojo was M.I.A) so I started flipping through my stash of magazines when I came across some great designs from Stephanie De Geus (cool name huh?) in Issue 14 of Creative Stamping magazine…
