Since posting about the Artspira app last week more information has popped up, including a surprise “new” Scan N Cut model to sit alongside last year’s US release.
Let’s start with the Artspira app. I created this post last week so if you’d like to have a read, do pop over.
At the time it was unclear if it would be available for all mobile operating systems. Well, the app is now listed in both the google play store and apple app store for pre-order/registration, so, yes, it will be.
It is due to be released in the UK on September 27th.
To see the app in the relevant store, here are the links…
Now, at the time of my last post, it wasn’t clear what models of the Scan N Cut the app would be compatible with. Since then I have found out that it will be using the “My Connection“ feature which is available on all new models released since Autumn 2021 so that would include the SDX325, SDX330D (in the USA), SDX1250 (in Europe) and the new model being released in the UK soon, the SDX2250D – I am not sure which, if any models have been released with this feature in other regions.
“My Connection” enables direct connection between the Scan N Cut and Innov-is Luminaire XP1, XP2 and XP3 embroidery machines.
It is unclear if this feature will be updated/added retrospectively to previous SDX or CM models but at the moment, there is nothing to say that it will be. As a result, it leads me to believe that the app won’t work if it doesn’t have the My Connection feature.
On the subject of that new UK model of the Scan N Cut, it is due to be released soon and will only be available via Brother dealerships so it is unlikely you will see it on the Makers Superstore or Create and Craft websites. I have been supplied the details of one retailer at this time – Couling Sewing Machines – but am told that this model will roll out across the dealerships in the future.
Anyway, that’s the update for this week. Hope to see you again next week after I have had chance to check the app out.
Bored of reading? I put all of this into a video … I should have said that earlier, lol!
