Scan N Cut, All Bagged Up!

This week I wanted to share a recommendation for a carry bag for your Scan N Cut machines based on a couple that I have recently tried and tested.

These carry bags were one of those “you might like” suggestions from Amazon. After having already shoved a load of stuff in my basket I was a little unsure however I have been looking for something similar for a while so had a look at the blurb and checked the measurements against those of my CM and DX models of the Scan N Cut.

Right size, so, why not. I chucked two in my cart and promptly forgot that I had ordered them.

They were very well packed and after unboxing them, I unfurled each bag and inserted the padded bottom. *sniggers – “padded bottom”.

Anyway, here’s a pic of them fresh out of the box.

Certainly look roomy enough. Time for the truth test though, can I fit a CM and a DX in?

Well, yes, kinda.

The CM fits with plenty of room around it and the security straps fit over it too.

The DX however is a snug fit and the security straps won’t fit over it however you can easily zip the top closed. Having checked the measurements before buying, this was actually expected.

Here are my babies in their sleeping bags.

Here they are, all zipped up.

Conclusions?

CM model owners are onto a winner with this one. Plenty of room for the machine and some accessories. Not sure that I would store the mat in there too but defo a bunch of extras could be carried along with the machine.

DX users, whilst it is a snug fit, I did notice that if I took the padded base out, there was more vertical room for the DX model so if you can find something flat and stiff, you can always replace it.

My goals, because I live and work in an open-plan space which is a dust haven, was to have something stylish that I could store the machines in when they are not in use – mostly so that visitors don’t have to see my craft addiction, lol!

Anyway, for £34.99 each, I think I have both achieved my goals and got good value.

What do you think? Are these something that would interest you?

When I ordered there were three colours available; purple, grey (the one that I got) and grey polka dot.

  1. Great review John, i didn’t realise the DX was bigger than the CM.
Years ago I bought a Cricut, long before the S & C was on the market and my daughter uses that one now, and also a bag for it,
She has the Cricut in his box and I use the bag for my CM that fits great. I know for sure it wasn’t a Cricut user that designed that bag, that’s all I will say about it, but I think you understand. This looks much easier to put in and out,
Thank you so much for your great post, stay safe and have a wonderful day.

  3. The bags look great John, personally I have no need for one as out of sight, out of mind it wouldn’t get used. What I didn’t realise was the size difference of the machines xx
