As shown earlier I had made a clasp mechanism that had a small post with a hole in it to keep the box closed.
I wanted to attached this with a chain but wondered how I was going to attach the other end to the box.
As I was deliberating my eye fell on a few of the cogs from that mixed bag. A few of them had loops built in that were just perfect for attaching jump rings.
After colouring one of them with the copper coloured Pebeo pen I went rummaging through my jewellery making supplies and found some cool dark metal coloured jump rings that would work well with the colour scheme.
I started to twist, loop and connect until I had a good length and then attached this to the post to check it was right.
Nope, a few more needed.
There we go!
This was then glued to the outside front of the box.
Perfect!

Loved this project John and I was amazed how it looked at the end. It could be used in so many different ways.

It’s fabulous John, well done :) I wasn’t sure about one part (the front with the strip of lace) but it really works on the finished article.
