This week I have been making an Artist Trading Card using stamps from Tiddly Inks that I got free in a copy of Quick Cards Made Easy.
I’m glad that I have managed to get this project completed as I now have a little something to giveaway for my 150th blog post!
Here’s a quick pic of the finished thing. For the envelope I used the cutting file that I blogged about yesterday – if you missed it, you can visit the the previous post for the relevant links.
To start with I stamped out the little girl onto white Neenah cardstock and laid a base coat of colour using Spectrum Noir pens.
The colours that I used are as follows.
- For the Hat, Scarf, Dress, Gloves and Socks I used BT2.
- For the Skin I used TN1.
- For the Hair I used EB2.
- For the Shoes I used BG3.
- For the Coat I used JG1.
After this I reached for the Spectrum Noir Pencils and set to work adding dimension to the colour.
For the Hat, Scarf, Dress, Gloves and Socks I used 061, 050 & 052.
For the Skin I used 084, 087 & 107.
For the Hair I used 096, 099 & 104.
For the shoes I used 117, 119 & 120.
With the colouring complete I wanted to add a little detail to the background so I stamped out the design onto a post it note and then used a circle stencil to add some “fluffy” clouds.
I then cut this out.
And popped it over the stamped image.
I then used a shaving brush together with the Mediterranean Blue Gentle Blend to brush some colour above the post it note.
I felt that the clouds needed some volume so I created a second mask from a post it note and popped this over the original one and brushed more colour over the design.
Finally I did this a third time. Here you can see all of the hand made masks in place.
After removing all of the masks I was very pleased with the subtle shading that I had achieved with the Gentle Blend colouring.
To make this into an Artist Trading Card I trimmed down the design to two inches wide by three inches high and then layered this onto black cardstock (that I had already cut down to 2.25 inches wide by 3.25 inches high).
Finally I layered this onto the Artist Trading Card.
I then created some little “extras” using a couple of the little penguin stamps that were also included on the sheet of freebies. One of them (on the right) was stamped directly onto the card and the other I cut out and applied with Pinflair Glue Gel.
I created the envelope using yesterday’s cutting file and then created a layer using a thank you stamp and one of the cute penguins and popped this onto the front of the envelope.
I finished it off with some mini gems at the base.
And there we have it, the completed ATC and envelope.
Cute eh?
By the way, as it’s my 150th blog post I would like to celebrate by sending this out to one of you. If you would like a chance of getting it, simply pop the phrase “ATC for me please” into the comments section below and I’ll draw one of you at random to win it on Friday.
Right, it’s time to pack up and TIDY UP (sigh).
Thanks for visiting and I hope that you enjoyed this little project.
