Hi Mel and John. Just want to say how Great you both are in explaining the Instructions on the ScanNCut Machine. As you are learning so are we the Create and Craft Members. Keep up the Great work so we can all carry on learning to-gether what the ScanNCut can do.. Regards Edna
hi john could you please help me out., i have brought the brother scan n cut and i have also brought the extra large mat to go with it (12×24) i have just gone to use it and went to scan in so i could save it to my usb so i could cut it out and keep saying i couldn’t use the mat.
could you please tell me why you can’t scan on this mat and you can
on the 12×12. i was hoping to finish my card and box now i have to
cut it by hand and its going to take me for ages.
many thanks sue.
Hi Sue, the 12×24 mats were not designed for scanning. I have suggested this as an update for Brother to look at but can’t tell you if or when this will happen.
Are you able to scan a smaller version on the 12 x 12 and then increase to cut on the 12 x 24 mat?
J :)
i will and do it on my own scanner and then increase as you have suggested and let you know many thanks for getting back to me, it would be great if brother did do this
sue :)
Hi John. Have you any idea when Create and Craft will have further Supplies of the Scanning Mat, the Standard Mat plus the Pens and Pen Holder for the Brother ScanNCut Machine. As they have been out of Stock now for some time and there must be others like myself who need these essential items urgently. Or do you know if we can Purchase them directly from Brother themselves. Edna
Hi John. Can you please tell me how to convert SVG Files so I can use them on my ScanNCut Machine. Perhaps we could have a Demo next time you are on Create and Craft. Regards Edna
Hi John. Do the ScanNCut Machines being Sold on Create and Craft now already been Up-Dated by Brother. Or will we still have to Up-Date them ourselves. Regards Edna
Hi John Just received SNC on Friday, have made a couple of cards using the templates, which I would not have been able to do without the machine. I have a problem with hand tremor so thought the machine would help when I am cutting out stamped images but when I tried one, it wasn’t very successful. The image scanned ok but only showed a few scanty areas which the machine would cut, I tried making sure there were no broken edges as I recall you saying this (when Dean drew his hand on C & C) but not sure how to do this. Would you have any suggestions please?
I have found that it sometimes takes 2 or 3 attempts to scan for the machine to “recognise” the outline. If it doesn’t happen first time around it is worth trying again a couple of times and sometimes you get the result you want. I particularly found this when scanning a decoupage sheet which had lots of content. Loving the machine and learning all the time!
Thank you John for sharing these updated cut settings with us. What a caring, sharing Gent you are! :-) my mixed media canvas is near to completion so will email you a pic soon. Crafty hugs, Belinda xx
John I am thinking getting the scan and cut brother machine but want to know the Dimensions of the machine before I buy it size length width and weight please could you let me know thank you
Hi John. How many Up-Dates have Brother provided so far for the ScanNCut Machine. Also can you please tell me, have the Machines now being Sold by Create and Craft already been Up-Dated by Brother. Regards Edna
Hi Edna, as far as I am aware there has only been one update so far. I don’t know about all shipped machines being up to date however it’s easy to check and update once it arrives.
Hi John
Thanks for your reply about craft plastic from model shops. Sorry I have not replied sooner. The plastic I want to use is called Plastikard and the thickest I would use is 80thou but I think that a thinner one may be better. It comes in A4 and A3 sheets and can have a fancy finish or plain. Hope you can help. Thank you
Denise
Many many thanks john for your very valuable info and great shows I have been watching as many as I can (my husband thinks I am trying to brainwash him)they are great and very simply explained. The Scanncut machine is fantastic and cuts really intricate detail I cut a very fine filigree border frame on an oval stamp which saved having to stamp and then cut an oblong outside I then had a nice oval embelishment and can’t praise Brother enough for a fantastic and easy to use machine Once again thank you to you and Mel for your hard work Yours Julia in kent [image: Inline images 1]
Thank you John for all the hard work you have put into this work, I have had machine two weeks now, still a bit scared of it. You are me new best friend thank you again from Gina Gallagher
