GCTV5 Stampscapes Tiled Window Scene with John Bloodworth - Gentleman Crafter

GCTV5 – Stampscapes Tiled Window Scene

In this episode of Gentleman Crafter TV, which was chosen by you, I will be showing you how to create an easy to make tiled window scene using the Stampscapes range of rubber stamps and some Stampbord tiles.

The other day I popped a picture of three projects online and asked you to choose which would feature in this week’s GCTV episode.

Here were the choices…

… and you chose …

… this wonderful tiled window!

Ok, the decision made, let me tell you a bit about what I used first.

The supplies for this project are quite minimal and most can be substituted so don’t think that you need lots of specific things.

Here is a quick list, with shopping links if you need them.

  • Stampscapes scene building stamps – choose whichever you fancy. I show you the ones that I use in the video.
  • Acrylic block.
  • Stampbord Inch Tiles. These can be substituted with any square or rectangular MDF blanks but you might need to prime them with acrylic paint or gesso first.
  • A piece of black mount board. Any thick surface onto which you can put the tiles will do.
  • A black archival ink pad. Do not substitute.
  • Three colours of water-based dye ink pads. Some brands include Printworks and Tim Holtz Distress ink pads.
  • Colourbox Blending Tool. This can be substituted with any ink blending tool, it’s better if it’s quite a small piece though.
  • A metallic ink pad. For this project, I used a copper/bronze colour for this project however you may wish to change this to suit your choice of colours.
  • Heat Tool. Anything that will blow hot air over the surface is good.
  • Thin paper or large post it notes – these are to make a simple mask with.

Just before I present the video, please find below a collection of images taken from the filming.

Ok, ready?

Right, let’s get on with this!

The only downside for me is the music the constant “bong” is very distracting šŸ˜•
