Explorations In Mixed Media

Explorations In Mixed Media 1 – Making A Whole New Mess

Another new series of weekly blog posts and videos starts today with a return to mixed media – woohoo!

This first one was more about me getting back into it after a long LONG break from anything really arty. I hope that you will join me and have a watch of the video.

Here’s a quick look at what I made, just in case you want to bail out early, lol!

Believe it or not, I didn’t even have a plan for this one. It was just a case of get everything out and see what happens – sometimes it’s the best way, sometimes it isn’t.

Anyway, it was safe to say that a mess was made.

Watch The Mess Unfold!

Want to see how I put this all together using pretty much everything in sight? Great! Just hit play…

  1. Great video John, love to see how you played with your mediums and tackle things when they didn;t go how you thought they would. You could see you had fun while playing.
I have my gel plate for a few years and have played with it last year for the first time and enjoyed the proces of printing a lot and intend to use it a lot more with my art journaling.
Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful day.

  2. I really enjoyed watching that John, I love the honesty of your process, showing how you deal with the project when the media doesn’t quite do what you hoped.

    Good job 👍
