Free SVG Cutting File – Mothers Day Card

With Mothering Sunday not too far away I thought that I’d create a set of free SVG cutting files that will give you a head start on your motherly makes – at least the card anyway.

This set includes the card base and four layers that go to create the card base shown below.

To be clear on what is up for grabs, the image below shows the card and layers in black and white that are included.

You can then embellish this with any number of bits and pieces from your stash.

Here’s a quick ‘serving suggestion’.

How To Get This Free CANVAS WORKSPACE PROJECT File

You can grab this file set from the official Brother blog.

PLEASE NOTE – This is a Canvas Workspace Project file, not a universal SVG file and therefore will only open in the downloaded/installed edition of Canvas Workspace, and not any other graphics suite.

  1. Hi Thank you for the free SVG file of Mother’s Day card – unfortunately it is not an svg only a brother file type. Can you export it out of your software to give us an SVG file. Thanks

      • The Brother Blog link takes you to a download button and this is what is
downloaded:ร‚ย  See attachmentร‚ย  has suffix .cwprj.ร‚ย ร‚ย  This is not an svg or
any other type without Illustrator or even Canvasworkshop can convert.

Another user also said the same.

        Thank you

      • The .CWPRJ (Canvas Workspace PRoJect) file format will only open in the downloaded/installed version of Canvas Workspace. It will not open in the online version or the tablet friendly version or in any other graphics suite, such as Adobe Illustrator as it is a project file, not a universal SVG file format.
Whilst not in a universal SVG format, it is still an SVG (scalable vector graphic). It is just software locked.
In Canvas Workspace, you would use the FILE > OPEN… menu options, instead of IMPORT.
        Hope this helps clarify things.

  2. Thank you for the beautiful Mothers day card but unfortunately I donโ€™t have a Scan Nโ€™ Cut. Is there anyway that I could get a copy to use on a cricut.

  3. Stunning card John, I love how you made your Mothers Day card,
I love the free cut file but I know for sure that my mother in law ( the only mother I still got) who is 95 wil not like it when she gets an English card from me, we are Dutch.

Perhaps you can tell me if you used a font that goes with the Scan and Cut or is it one you bought?

Thanks for your beautiful card inspiration, stay safe and have a great evening.

  4. Many thanks John. I still couldn’t get past the Facebook page until I clicked on the button ‘Follow this designer’ lower down then I got the Facebook page with the additional option. Have downloaded the file so am now very happy.
    Thanks again, Shirley.

  5. I love this card layout though sadly I no longer have a Mother to send it to. However I can see lots of other possibilities for it but I have the same problem as gramma45, I can’t download it without logging in or registering with Facebook, something I have no intention of doing. Neither do I have a Scan n Cut but I do have a Silhouette Cameo. If there is some other way I can access this file I’ll be delighted but whatever, I thank you for your generosity in offering this lovely file.

    • Hi Shirley, logging in with Facebook is an option. Just below that you will see a space to log in with your own email address and password which you can register for directly with Creative Fabrica – this can be done on the link below the log in box that says “register”. This has nothing to do with Facebook.
