30 Days Of Card Making 5

Day 5 – 30 Days Of Card Making

Bit of a longer session today which meant more time to chuck stuff on paper. Was it worth it … ?

Regular readers of this blog will know why I am doing this mini challenge in order to reunite my mojo with my craft space. To follow the full journey, you can find all related post in the 30 Days Of Card Making archive.

Ok, on with today’s creation.

30 Days Of Card Making 6

Let’s start with the background panels. Texture paste was spread through a stencil and allowed to dry. Watercolour ink and wax paste were used to colour the result. A little white and yellow heavy body acrylic paint were then used to dry brush some detail in.

This was then chopped up into section, the edges inked and these glued to the card front.

The flowers were created by allowing the tissue – used to mop up ink etc – to dry and then gluing it to a piece of card and using the same techniques from the background to added colour and detail.

Gold wax paste was used to dry brush the die cut butterfly.

One of our group – mojo, craft space or I – decided to add some of this as a mat for the sentiment strip. Good choice? Not sure, but it is what it is.

It’s going all right this challenge thing, innit?

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks for reading today’s progress. Hope you will join me tomorrow to see how mojo, craft space and I get on with your journey.

Much love,

J x.

I am confused though, reading through the comments a couple mention embossing folders but I can’t fathom why..
Anyhoo, whosever idea it was for the sentiment mat was spot on!

  4. Yet another beautiful card, John. I often cut into embossing folders to give this type of effect. I find it very effective. Looking forward to mojo and craft spaces next production as they are giving me lots of ideas!
