My love of stamping goes way back. You can see my fascination running throughout the last few years of this blog but it goes even further back.
Back to the days where matting and layering did not really appear in card making and wood block stamps were the only choice.
How times have changed this!
As part of my recent ‘acquisitions’ – purchases – from Simon Says Stamp, I have another set of Mama Elephant stamps.

The simplicity of the design is what appealed to me on this one. I, therefore, wanted to make sure to carry this simplicity across to whatever I made.
Want to see what I came up with? Ok, here you go.

Sorry about the finger smudge, I got excited about photographing it before I had washed the ink off of my fingers. Hehe. Whoops!
Anyhoo, here’s a quick overview of what and how.
Stuff Used
- Mama Elephant Origami Clear Stamp Set,
- Onyx Black Versafine Inkpad,
- Aladine IZINK Rose Dye Inkpad,
- Ink Blending Tool,
- White Smooth Cardstock,
- Black Cardstock,
- Red Cardstock,
- A6 Blank Greeting Card,
- Sakura Gelly Roll White Pen,
- Kuretake Zig Memory System Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Pen,
- Anita’s Clear 3D Gloss,
Method
Using the ink blending tool, apply a blush of the rose ink to the edges of a 62mm x 92mm piece of the white cardstock.

Apply the heart design stamp to an acrylic block.
Cut the ‘Love You’ sentiment in half and position underneath the heart design on the acrylic block.
Apply the Versafine ink and stamp onto the cardstock.

Also stamp this layout onto a scrap of red cardstock. Colour the heart in using the white gel pen.
I added a little glitter pen to the centre of the heart at this point too.

This was then cut out and stuck onto the white cardstock over the decal and I blobbed on a bit of the clear gloss to accentuate the heart.

Now, this was about the size of an Artist Trading Card so I could have left things there however I chose to stamp a couple of the little hearts in the corners of this piece and then matt/layer this onto the front of an A6 card.

I am very happy with that choice.
What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to leave them in the comments section below.
Time for me to crack on with the day though – have a great one whatever you are doing.
See you again later.
Bye for now.
