8 Maids Milking Artist Trading Card by John Bloodworth Gentleman Crafter

The 12 Days Of Christmas – Day 8

Oooh, bloody hell, it’s 2019 !!! Happy New Year! Seems weird to still be talking about Christmas so blame the carol.

On the eight day of Christmas my true love sent to me, eight maids-a-milking …

8 Maids Milking Artist Trading Card by John Bloodworth Gentleman Crafter

It’s a lovely gift but who is supplying the creatures being milked?! Does my true love assume that I have a heard of cows roaming around my flat? If so, my true love doens’t know me that well.

The alternatives from history aren’t that much better – hares-a-running or boys singing. The only one that I liked was hounds-a-running, although eight of them all bounding around could get pretty bloody annoying.

Carol aside, I should let you know that I used the 12 Days Of Christmas stamp set that came free with Issue 63 of Creative Stamping Magazine.

A line was drawn at the side of the Artist Trading Card and the sentiment stamped in the space created. This area was then masked off and the main design was stamped across the remaining space.

Alcohol markers and a little sparkle were then used to colour the design. At this point, I was getting a bit belligerent with the ATCs and I added a little ‘Oi!’ from Daisy as she wasn’t too happy about the maids nicking her milk.

Just four more days of Christmas to go. Seems to be dragging now though, right?

Have you packed up the tinsel already? Decs down and ho-ho-ho vac-packed and put in the loft?

Maybe lets keep a little of the Christmas cheer out for a couple more days, eh?

See you tomorrow for day 9.

J :)

  3. Happy New Year John.
I think your flat must be a massive apartment – it sounds larger than a flat ;) love the sneaky peak of the deer on the ATC.
Yes, my decorations are down, not quite packed away yet. I always have taken them down new year’s Day for the past 21 years, so it’s now something of a tradition.
