Sometimes I find the things that other people do a little magical. It could be a skill or a talent – I know such a diverse and talented bunch of people that I am surprised that I don’t live in a perpetually awestruck state.
Anyway, it was this feeling that I wanted to convey in today’s Artist Trading Card.
This was possibly one of the easiest that I have created as there was very little work involved – it was mostly down to the stamp.
I began by using come versafine black ink to stamp out the little Magic Fairy stamp from Hobbycraft, which had the integral “The Magic Of You” sentiment.
I then created a circular mask from a stick note and popped it over the sentiment area of the stamped design.
I grabbed a few purple shades of Versacolor inkpads and got dabbing. Lighter shades were applied to the middle and darker around the edges – like the moon is glowing good and proper.
That last step wasn’t quite enough though so I used some dotty See D’s stamps in order to apply some white “speckles” around the moon and darker purple dots at the corners.
As a little “extra” I used a swirly stamp in the corners with a coordinating purple ink.
Having peeled off the moon-mask I was surprised to find that I was pretty happy with it. I did however want to add a little bling so I gave it a spritz of Crafters Companion Spray and Sparkle.
When that had dried I added some purple pearls to the corners.
The final step was to layer into onto some American Crafts Cardstock. I chose a slightly-purpley-blue and a blacky-grey – very precise colours, lol!
And there we have it, the magic of you (and you, of course) all wrapped up in a little card.
