Monday Mash Up - Fifty Shades of Blue - 21

Monday Mash Up – Fifty Shades Of Blue And A Rabbit

This one started a little larger and used Stonewashed and Denim Adirondack inkpads to stamp out the design.

I think that I used most of the stamps from the sheet for this one! Lol.

I then used an alcohol marker to add some shade to the sky, leaving a white semi circle to indicate a sun, and then created the shaded colours you see in the next image with wax-based coloured pencil.

With the image coloured I had a rummage through my card stash and found some blue coloured and patterned cardstocks to work with.

Cardstock collated and I commenced construction. Ooo, illiteration in action, almost.

Anyway, I cut a mat from black and then added a layer of a fancily patterned cardstock.

I then used a cutting file to create a frame or mat for the stamped image.

I cut a mat of the shape (created in Brother Scan N Cut canvas as one was not included) and stuck that to the blue patterned card stock.

Then I cut the doily design from a smokey blue American Crafts cardstock and stuck that onto the mat.

I then cut a circle of black cardstock to fit the centre of the design and stuck that down.

Finally I used the Brother Scan N Cut’s preview feature to help me cut a circle from the stamped design that would fit inside the mat of black cardstock.

As a final touch I added a few (billion) blue coloured gems to the doily design.

And that, my dear friends, was about it!

Here are a few more images of the finished design.

I have a brother machine and I have used several files of there’s to create SnC files. I would like to know how you got canvas to make the mat from the file, if you are willing to share the information. Thanks x

    • Just use the offset tool. It’s a button on the toolbar that looks like two circles sitting in top of each other.
The canvas help PDF will explain more if you need it.
