BROTHER ARTSPIRA UPDATE OCTOBER 2023

Have You Heard…?

Well, hello there! Hope things are well with you and yours. I’m just on my way back to Scotland after a rather eventful weekend in Peterborough so thought I’d take the opportunity to share some news with you…

Scan N Cut users will remember the app, Artspira, being launched a while ago and how this provided access to an online magazine, cutting file designs, embroidery designs and more via an app on our smart phones.

I covered it a couple of times in 2022.

Well, this app has recently been updated to version 2. With that update comes some new features, new options and – rather surprisingly (to me) a paid subscription option.

The first thing that you might notice is an updated home screen. I am going to be honest that I don’t use this app much and therefore didn’t really pick up on what had changed. I will try and look back at the old posts and videos in more detail when I am not being jiggled about at 100mph.

Now, before we launch a torch and pitchfork mob in the general direction of anything ‘subscription’, as far as I can see, all of what was available for free before the update, is still free after the update.

It appears that in the update, there are some new designs, features and additional options that have been made available. Some are specific to embroidery features only and some are specific to cutting machines only.

So, what does this paid subscription offer?

  1. The abillity to import your own designs into the saved library, including SVG and FCM files. I don’t believe that this is linked to Canvas Workspace storage yet though.
  2. In light of the above, the storage capabilities have increased to 100 files for paid subscriptions, instead of 20.
  3. There are more designs being made available however ‘free’ level users will only have access to 500; paid subs will have access to 3000.

How much is the subscripotion?

£9.99 a month (including VAT in the UK). Check the upgrade page for your region to find out the local c

Can I Cancel at any time?ost.

Yes?

Is there a free trial?

Yes, two months free. After two months you will be charged unless canceled.

Is it available everywhere?

No. See the compatibility list for regions where it is supported.

Is it worth it?

For me? Probably not. Idesign my own files and need more complex software and a large screen, so working on a mobile has no advantages for me.

For you – maybe, only you can decide that.

Anyway, I’ll do a video over the next couple of days and get it up onto the new YouTube channel with some live action footage of the app.

Tra for now.

Much love.
