New Beginnings In Mixed Media 2

A similar style to the first mixed media project, that I shared earlier this year, with a couple of tweaks – just for fun!

Again I worked small for this initial experiment.

I began by scrunching an old book page up and gluing and glazing this onto an artist trading card with Pebeo Bindex Brilliant.

When dry, I used a pigment stick to add some blue tint to the outer edges.

Some gold was also added to the edges using a Pebeo metallic pen.

I created the nest as before, wrapping the twine around an embossing powder pot and then using a glue gun to glue the twine loops together.

This was then stuck in place on the front of the ATC along with some other scraps of the old page.

The odd sized eggs were created by drizzling some of the molten glue onto a silicone sheet and allowing it to spread/cool.

With the larger egg, I sprinkled glitter over this before it had dried. The smaller egg had some gold interference paint applied after it had cooled and dried.

These were then glued into the nest using a glue gun.

Hey presto, another quick mixed media make and I am really enjoying it.

What do you think? Is this style growing on you the more you see of it?

Right, I’d best crack on and get some work done.

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again next time.

J :)

  1. Love this Mixed Media projects by you John, I think it is also very clever to keep it all small. I think I am going to do that also. Thank you so much for sharing.
