I woke up today with the thought that everyday is a new day and can life can be re-written at any time – so I thought that this would make a good design challenge for this ATC series.
I began this design by choosing a typewriter design from a free set that I got with Issue 22 of Creative Stamping magazine which I stamped out using a black Archival inkpad.
I then masked this off with a post it note mask that I made to match.
Colour was applied using a daubing sponge and some blue/pink Versacolor inkpads. I deliberately chose pink and blue as they take you from “cool” to “warm” colour tones, thereby indicating a fluctuating life – no, really! lol ;)
I then removed the mask and stamped the word “life” onto the blank sheet – I’m sure you can see the symbolism here.
Finally I applied a little of the colour to the typewriter body and coated it in Glossy Accents to give it a more realistic look.
And that, my dear friends, is ATC number 28 done!
Thank you for visiting and I hope that you are enjoying this series of daily posts.

Once again great result – it really cheered me up after taking 3.5 hours to get home from Chesterfield (6 miles) after a dentist appointment. It was like being in a nightmare; a very snowy nightmare! Keep up the good work. I look forward to tomorrow’s ATC. Best wishes!

I am seeing them all and enjoying the progress of a fresh idea each day. However, I really liked yesterday’s but I would make it longer and use as a bookmarker. I think today’s is just so lovely, as I love old typewriters and really hope I can find a back issue of the magazine with the stamp included. ~~~Deb

I love this one, not that I haven`t loved all of them, saw your comment about having a crafty block, have you thought about inking through some lace, as it is getting near Romance time it may give a great background. Or some marbling perhaps! Thank you for the inspiration you give to us all, keep going, after a cuppa and biccy though.

Hi John
Very profound, lovely colours too. I love how you shaded the typewriter to make it a little more ‘real’

Trying to think of some different superlatives to what I’ve already used – don’t think I’ve used ‘superb’ yet!? Lol! Fabby colours! B :-) x

This card reminds me of my late Dad. His first job was repairing typewriters. Thank you John, it is fabulous.
