SVG Saturday – Diamond Circle Mandala Style Card Front Cutting File

This week’s SVG saturday cutting file is a simple circular Mandala style background design.

I originally thought that it would be good as a background for card fronts or as a simple frame in which to place a sentiment or central image however I am sure that those of you that do scrapbooks could always re-size it and use it as a photo frame for a special occasion or scrapbook cover.

Either way, I hope that you will get some use out of it.

Here are the files ready to download. This time I have included both the FCM and SVG formats so that it’s quicker for all of you to get cutting. Just download the one that is relevant to you and your machine.

There are three layers to the design. You can cut all or just one but it does look good with all three.

All files are contained in a compressed (zipped) folder and you will need to unzip the folder before trying to access or transfer any of the files for use with your machines.

Angel Policy – You ARE permitted to make as many handcrafted products as you like using the cut or drawn shapes from these files for any purpose (charity, commercial etc). Please however don’t distribute or claim as your own the actual digital files

Here are a few examples that I put together to give you a little inspiration on ways to use it.

This example used a simple black and white colour pallette as it’s base.

I added quite a lot of faux pearls and gems. The diamonds don’t form a perfect circle so the resulting rounded square placement of these looked quite different.

The final embellishment was made using some flower and butterfly punches. The wording was made using alphabet stamps to spell out the word fly.

For this example I went back to a nature inspired colour scheme.

I punctuated the junctures of the spines in the background with coordinating gems and then used a variety of dies and punches in order to make the bird on the branch.

Finally I stamped out the word tweet using alpha stamps.

For this design I used gold mirri card inbetween the layers of purple cardstock in order to tie the colours in with some leftover Hunkydory toppers that I had.

The flowers were made using punches.

This design started out with the idea of doing something with bees (i.e. bee inspired or bee mine) however I got some free Tiddly Inks stamps in my copy of Quick Cards and decided to make that a central design.

I got to work with the gems and then created a central design with a leaf punch and finished it off with the Fa La La sentiment stamp.

I’ll be doing a full blog post on this one tomorrow so please do come back and visit to see how I put it together.

So, there we go, just a few ideas for you.

Many thanks for reading. I look forward to seeing what you make with them!

See you again next time.

J :)

  1. Sorry to bother you again but I have found some pretty cutout patterns that I would like to move to my Brother Scan and Cut – however I can’t seem to convert them to SVG files. Do you know how to conver them or where I can download files already in SVG format?

    Many thanks
