Spellbinders Show Card No.14 – Rounded Squares Die Set

Here is another card sample that I made for the recent run of Spellbinders shows on Create and Craft TV using the Rounded Squares die set.

Another simple card here.

I first stamp out the map design and sentiment.

I then cut each out with one of the Rounded Square dies and then also cut a complimentary layer.

I inked the stamped layers to give them an aged look and then layered this onto a paper that complimented the travel theme of the stamps.

During assembly I added the string and the embellishment to give a little more interest to the card.

  1. John, I’ve only just been bitten by the card making bug. Up until now I’ve been bead weaving jewellery. Could you tell me if a die cutting machine is an essential piece of kit please?

    • I’d say yes more than no, but the type of machine that you get, and the dies you choose, will be wholly dependant on what you want to go on and make in the future.

      • Thanks, John. I’m thinking of getting the Big Shot (and not only because of the funky pale blue/green colour lol). It seems to be the one that will do what I want, and the starter kit seems to be quite good.

  2. You recently showed a demo on C&C using Bigz dies, folding paper to get maximum from the die. Can you please explain it again, started watching half-way through.
    Many thanks

  3. I wouldn’t buy this set, I have square dies, and would use my corner rounder But I like the idea of using maps for a ‘man’ card.

  4. Hi John
Fab card. I can think of a few chums who enjoy travelling who would love this card. May I ask what map stamp and background paper you used? Thanks
