A little something different for this blog post. Having recently acquired some of the Couture Creation alcohol inks I decided to try and come up with something for the festive season that wasn’t “the usual”.

Ready to see how I did?

Today’s creation uses elements from The Gift Of Giving papercraft collection from Couture Creations and their alcohol inks.

Here is the finished card.

Stuff Used

• CO727338 – Yupo Paper – White A4 – 200gsm
• Black Card – for an extra bit of excitement to your creation, try CO727165 – A4 Glitter Card
• CO727922 – Mini Die – The Gift of Giving – Tis the Season
• CO725937 – Le Petit Jardin Evening Branch Mini Die
• CO727325 – Mulberry Alcohol Ink
• CO727300 – Azure Alcohol Ink
• Optional – CO728160 – 100% Isopropyl Alcohol
• CO724389 – Turbo Glue Pen

I also used an old tooth brush and a cocktail stick to spatter the ink.

Steps

Cut two pieces of Yupo paper 100mm x 143.5mm

Put a few drops of Azure ink onto an old stiff bristled brush (a toothbrush works really well), point the brush towards the paper and drag a cocktail stick over the bristles towards you – this way you get the ink on the paper and not on you.

Depending on your work area, you can most likely do both pieces of paper at the same time.

Do this several times until you have a good spattering. Give it a moment to dry. Then repeat with the Mulberry ink.

To create the larger pastel blobs I repeated the spattering with some of the isopropyl alcohol.

Crop one of the pieces of card down to 65mm x 95mm.

Crop the black card down to 210mm x 148.5mm and fold in half to form an A6 card.

Cut a piece of black cardstock to 70mm x 100mm.

Glue the larger piece of spattered card to the front of the folded card and the other piece to the 70mm x 100mm piece of black card.

Fix this smaller swatch to the front of the card using foam pads.

Die cut the sentiment and branch from black cardstock and glue in place.

Finally, decorate with your choice of embellishments. In this example I used some mini baubles, a bottle cap and some adhesive gems but you can use whatever you have available.
