Greetings Card Mama Elephant Origami John Bloodworth Gentleman Crafter (7)

A Friendly Hello

The other day we said hello to Mama Elephant. Today, I am saying hello you to, friend.

Probably the punniest intro to a blog post that I will make all year but it needed to be made.

Why? Because of the card in the post, of course.

The eagle-eyed among you will note that this uses the same stamp set from yesterday.

The Origami set from Mama Elephant that I got as part of my Simon Says Stamp haul.

As I was clearing up after the card that I made yesterday I spotted the swan and the sentiment and was immediately inspired to make another card – I say immediately, I did go and make a cup of tea and bacon sandwich before I got to work.

Now, you’ve already seen what I made, here is the stuff used and the way I did it.

Stuff Used.

  • Mama Elephant Origami Clear Stamp Set,
  • Onyx Black Versafine Inkpad,
  • Aladine IZINK Mer Du Sud Dye Inkpad,
  • Ink Blending Tool,
  • White Smooth Cardstock,
  • Black Cardstock,
  • Blue Cardstock,
  • A6 Blank Greeting Card,
  • Sakura Gelly Roll White Pen,
  • Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen – Light Grey,

Method

First, I applied a blush of the Mer Du Sud Aladine IZINK dye ink the two corners of a 62mm x 92mm piece of white cardstock.

I then positioned the stamp on the acrylic block, cut the sentiment in half and placed these below the swan design.

This was inked with Versafine Onyx Black and stamped onto the cardstock.

I then stamped the same design onto another piece of white cardstock and added shadows with the grey brush pen.

After cutting the blue and black cardstock to size, I stamped the flying crane design around the outer edge of the blue layer.

I cut out the spare swan and glued it to the main focal layer which was then glued to the blue background.

And that, was pretty much it.

What do you think?

Two cool cards from the one set so far.

Will save this set for another day now as I have more to show you over the next few days.

Hope you have enjoyed these easy makes.

What did you think? I would love to hear your thoughts.

In the meantime, I need to go an crack on with the work ahead today.

Bye for now.

J :)
