A more refined design for today’s ATC365 creation. This one started with a Charles Rennie Mackintosh style floral stamp that I had received free with the July 2014 issue of Craft Stamper magazine.
To accentuate the overall design I also chose a similar embossing folder for the background.
This was embossed into white cardstock and then giving some gentle shading with light alcohol makers.
The floral stamp was then inked with Versafine ink and stamped out onto white cardstock and allowed to dry before being coloured with some pastel shades of alcohol marker.
Once finished I trimmed it down to size, applied a black matte and then glued it onto the background.
I added a little swag of mini gems to the bottom of the stamped panel as a last little touch – I didn’t want to add too much as it would have detracted from the main design.
And there we have it. Number 106 in the bag!
What did you think? I’d love to know if you would have done anything differently…

I love it. I get the gems being a swag, and personally I like it, but maybe a very little gilding wax would have suited a bit more. Oh very posh

Seems most of us agree, John…no gems.

Hi John
Great choice of embossing folder, really suits the stamp.
Different? No, with a fairly bold stamp like that I think the embossed background is a great choice. As for gems I believe there can never be too many!

Beautiful card John. I agree with Fiona – would have left the gems off, maybe added a small sentiment. But I love it!
Happy crafting
Carole.

Hi John,
This is a lovely ‘clean’ image, thanks for sharing. I think the only thing I would do differently is not add the gems as I don’t think they add to the design.
