Today’s Artist Trading Card creation celebrates being you, no matter how flamboyant!
It uses quilling as the main technique and was fairly simple, although a little time consuming, to create.
See what I mean? Lol.
Anyway, the leaves were made by free-form cutting some leafy shapes from green cardstock.
These were applied to the ATC, which I had already created using some basic patterned paper and cardstock, after I had first twisted and stuck down a green strip of quilling paper.
I then formed my petals. These were formed in a few different ways but all started with a quilling paper strip and the quilling tool. I made various tight and loose coils in different coloured papers and then shaped the loose ones into teardrop shapes.
These were arranged and stuck down at the top of the green paper strip.
The big curly strips were made by partly chopping a quilling paper strip up it’s centre and then curling the two parts over.
These were then stuck in-between the petals.
The “be you” sentiment was made using mini alphabet stamps and then edged with black pen and cut out and stuck on.

Quilling- is there no end to your talents?! A very pretty flower, the parts of the design that literally grow from the atc are fabulous.
The sentiment is perfect, a message I have tried to impart to many youngsters over the years as it’s something I truly believe.
A quick apology for not commenting lately. I haven’t been at my best and any energy I have had was put into making special cards as my 2 ‘baby’ sisters and my stepmum had landmark birthdays in the last couple of weeks. Hopefully I’ll be back for most of your work now! Intend to spend a relaxing hour in the very near future going back over what I missed.
