Today’s Artist Trading Card post features a simple design that has a floral theme with a positive sentiment.
The floral background was made using a floral stamp that I had in my collection (sorry, not sure of who made it). This was stamped in Versafine ink and then coloured using Spectrum Noir pens and pencils.
I then edged it with a Wink of Stella pens.
The sentiment was made using mini alphabet stamps which were stamped out, punched out with a small square punch and then edged with colours that coordinated with the main floral design.
I attached the lettering tiles to the ATC with Pinflair Glue Gel in order to give them a little dimension.
What do you think? Nice and simple isn’t it?
Thanks for stopping by. There’ll be another one at the same time tomorrow so please do visit again.

I love Your ATCs John, you work is always lovely.
Do you mind me saying that I have got into mixed media and Art Jouunalling much more than making cards. I use my journals fir my mixed media art and sometimes do them on canvas or water colour paper. Do you think Create and Craft will start to move in that direction as it is sooo popular now.
I wondered if you have heard of Life Book 2015, well I did 2014 course and my mum died this year. It really helped me to carry on doing art and it’s about learning to love yourself and get rid of our inner critic. Over 2500 people are doing it this year mostly beginners like me. It’s run by a lady called Tamara Laport. I thought you would be interested.
I think there is a market fior lots of items that create and craft could sell. I buy the papers fior collage and would love to see more jounal type stamps and acrylic paints etc. I have been a member for 4 years.
Hope you don’t mind me chatting to you about this.
Warmly
Jacqui .pexton.

Hi Jacqui. Thank you for the compliment :)
Mixed media is definitely being talked about a lot at C&C so I’m sure you’ll see lots more of it over 2015.

Beautiful, I like the way the black image seems to spring out of the black matted layer.

I like these. Don’t require me to get my whole stash out or cumbersome tools. Simple techniques that don’t take over the whole house. Easy to do in one sitting and Brucie bonus at the end you have lots of potential card toppers.

Hi John, that is absolutely brilliant. I love the simple but effective result. I have a question, could I use hot glue instead of the 3D gel?

Maybe. Might be an idea to do a quick test to make sure that you are happy with the result.
