Spellbinders Show Card No.12 – Decorative Labels 28 Die Set

Here is another card sample that I made for the recent run of Spellbinders shows on Create and Craft TV using the Decorative Labels 28 die set.

Spellbinders Show Sample 12 Decorative Labels 28

To create the clock I used the standard circles set and cut an aperture in the larger of the Decorative Labels 28 as I cut the label. The cardstock that I used was already printed with a wood grain which I thought looked really nice.

I then created another layer behind this with smaller circles on gold cardstock.

I printed a clock face from my PC and stuck this behind some acetate, which I also cut out using the circle dies.

The lower level of the clock was cut from a smaller die from the Decorative Labels 28 die set.

I used two different backgrounds papers to which I added some shading on the corners in order to town it down a little.

The danglers were created from some jewellery components and stuck to the card using Pinflair 3D glue before applying the upper layer.

  1. John, that’s so cool! I do a bit of beading and wire work jewellery and I’ve been wondering if I could incorporate any of it into card design. This shows that I could. I wish I was talented like you, thanks for the great blog, I really enjoy them, and I look forward to seeing you on C&C again soon…just keep away from Nigel, who seems to want to cover you in glitter lol

  3. Hi John
When I saw this on c&c I was and still am in awe of your creativity. I adore this card. I love how realistic it looks and the golden jewellery danglers really make the card work more. You are amazing. Love the wood grain effect card stock. i think you could make real clocks using battery operated clockfaces using this card then you’d have a card and gift in one. Unfortunately that’s a bit too complicated for me! Anyhow if you are looking for Xmas gift ideas its a thought!
    Best wishes from Katie-Louise sweetlove
