Spellbinders Show Card No.2 – Branching Out Die Set

Here is another card sample that I made for the recent run of Spellbinders shows on Create and Craft TV using the Branching Out die set.

Spellbinders Show Sample 2

This was a really simple one.

I cut 2 x A5 pieces of cardstock and then stamped the verse on one with a memento inkpad.

The two layers of the Spellbinders branching out die set were cut from white card and then inked around the edges. I made sure to tape down the layer that was sat on top of the verse.

I then stamped out some flower designs using the tonic studio floral stamps that were designed by Ruth Hamilton.  I coloured these in using Spectrum Noir pens. I ended up doing two sets and creating decoupage with the layers.

I then assembled it all by simply layering it all on top of each other and sticking the flat layers with tape and the flowers with 3d glue.

  1. I love this set of dies and have placed an order for them. Your card is stunning and have a feeling I will cut the edges to use as a frame for my bird and other woodland animal stamps

  3. Hi John
Fell in love with this card when I saw it on the shows. Simple, maybe, beautiful, definitely!
Will need to get this Freeview business sorted. Don’t want Hubby getting used to watching what he likes after 6pm lol!

  4. Hi John
I love the card and am adding the die set to my must have list. I fing that it is easier to get a gentle blend by using the brushes as you have done. Lovely to see you on TV

  6. Hi John, a beautiful card. Using shaving brushes to do the edges look a lot easier to use than cut and dry foam…. maybe I’m a bit heavy handed!.

  7. Hi John this is a beautiful card and the card that convinced me I needed this great die set.
Love the inked edges and spectrum noir coloured flowers must start to try this as my die cut flowers are always a bit plain looking. I should get some cheap shaving brushes for inking my edges as it looks great. I find using the blender tool and sponge pad made for it so difficult to get a gentle blend with. I gave up inking my edges because I find I get blotches.
Love your pretty card John. There are so many ways I think you can use the branching out dies I’m so looking forward to receiving mine.
