After yesterday’s grey monotone creation I really wanted to bring a little colour back into this series of mini makes.
So I did!
Pow! Now that’s colourful, right?!
Anyway, best tell you how I cobbled this together.
The background was made by heat embossing the Script stamp from Indigo Blu onto watercolour cardstock using white embossing powder.
I then applied some Tim Holtz distress ink and spritzed with a little water and allowed the colour to spread and dry.
The butterfly was another from the Indigo Blue range. This was stamped onto white cardstock using a Versafine inkpad. I then used a pink pigment ink to brush on some colour. I then cut this out and applied a layer of Glossy Accents and allowed it to set.
For the “fly” sentiment I used individual mini alphabet stamps to spell out the word (and add the brackets). I brushed the edges with a lilac coloured pigment inkpad and then cut it down using my small Tonic Studios guillotine.
To assemble I first cut down the wings on the butterfly (poor thing) to fit the top layer of the ATC. I then applied some Anita’s mini gems down the thorax (his body – get me with those fancy words).
I layered up the background onto two more layers and then stuck the butterfly, and the sentiment into place.
The final touch was the addition of the eyelets for which I used the Cropodile eyelet hole punch and setter.
And there we have it, another ATC for the collection.
Marvellous isn’t it?!
I hope that you like it and that it may inspire you to have a go at these manageable mini makes.

Lovely, John, you’ve used one of my two favourite things today with the butterfly. There are now still over 300 more chances that you may use my second favourite, an owl. x
