Creative Ideas With Couture Creations – “Hello, Again”

Creative Ideas With Couture Creations – “Hello, Again”

Just me again with another wee creation to share. This time, a slightly “butcher” colour scheme/theme.

Today’s creation uses the Hello cut, foil and emboss sentiment die from Couture Creations.

Masculine cards are always difficult without resorting to blah colours like brown and blue so, I made this card with browns. Lol!

Anyway, the background paper was from a set featuring lots of olde-worlde ephemera. This was mat/layered onto the front of an A6 card.

The sentiment was cropped from various browns/beiges, as is the tradition with blokey cards, with the last layer being cut with the exciting heat embossing technique that I have shared previously on this blog.

If you haven’t seen that, do check out this blog post or the video below showing how it was done.

These die-cuts were then glued together using a slight offset and mounted on the front of the card using foam pads.

Mate, I must have a monopoly on foam pads by now.

The finishing touches included some adhesive gems and brads, which I chopped the legs off and glued in place with glue gel.

I know I’ve mocked my colour choices here, but I really liked how this one turned out.

Hope you enjoyed this little overview. If you would like to see more of my design team explorations for Couture Creations, you can visit the archive here.

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to sharing more with you soon!

Bye for now.

  1. Beautiful John. I must be in the minority as I find masculine cards relatively easy (having four brothers and no sisters helps!) Many thanks for all your inspirational ideas. X

  2. Hi John. First I love this card and I just have to say that your comment about it being more blokey is a wee bit sexist :( . Both of my girls would love to receive a card like this as neither are into florals or “girly” colours and styles, as would I. Kath x
