The 12 Days Of Christmas – Day 6

December 30, 2018 — 2 Comments

On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, six geese-a-laying…

6 Geese Laying Artist Trading Card by John Bloodworth Gentleman Crafter

Seems that geese were a thing back in history, before chickens started getting churned out of factories. Nice thought for Christmas, eh?!

Again, a very constant verse in the carol, changing to ducks only once. Those weird Victorians had funny ways.

Carol aside, I should let you know that I used the 12 Days Of Christmas stamp set that came free with Issue 63 of Creative Stamping Magazine.

A line was drawn at the side of the Artist Trading Card and the sentiment stamped in the space created. This area was then masked off and the main design was stamped across the remaining space.

Alcohol markers were used to add shadow to the main design and a gold glitter gel pen was used to add accents to the beak, feet and eggs.

Geese seem to go in and out of favour as a Christmas meat however once secured in the carol, it was there to stay.

Think I was mixing up Aesop’s Fables and Christmas carols with the golden egg tho.

Ah well, it still looks good.

Day 7 coming soon! Well, tomorrow in fact.

Bye for now.

J :)
