This artist trading card daily challenge is genuinely one of the most fun things that I have ever embarked on.
Every time I sit down I have to look for new ways of doing things. This is really keeping my mojo going (and my craft room in a mess).
Anyway, here is ATC number 102 for your viewing pleasure.
This one started out with the butterfly (from Indigo Blu) which I had stamped out with some minty blue ink.
I then stamped out the “friends” sentiment using a black memento inkpad.
Now, to be honest this sat around the desk for sometime as I was struggling with symmetry due to the sentiment panel being slimmer than the ATC format.
My answer – forget symmetry and just figure out a way of getting this done man!
So I mused and then mused some more before rustling around my offcuts (please, no jokes).
I eventually found a piece of blueish/white cardstock that would form the background and also a piece of paper with some tiny pink stippled dots on.
I shuffled these around a bit until I found a good layout. To continue I edged all of the layers of paper with black ink.
During my “planning” I had decided that I wanted some pennants involved in the final design; these would give balance and symmetry to an otherwise off-kilter arrangement.
I created the three pennants by eye (about 1/4 inch wide) and also coloured them in mint ink and then edged with black ink.
Once done I popped it all together and added some pink gems for contrast.
And that was number 102 complete!
What do you think? Do you also struggle with not being “balanced” on your creations? How do you overcome it?

By for now – see you next time!
