Spellbinders Show Card No.9 – Curved Borders 2 Die Set

August 16, 2013 — 17 Comments

Here is another card sample that I made for the recent run of Spellbinders shows on Create and Craft TV using the Curved Borders 2 die set.

Spellbinders Show Sample 9 Curved Borders 2 Die Set

To create this card I combined the following dies from the Curved Borders set on different layers.

  • Filigree with scalloped border on the white card.
  • Filigree with dotted border on the blue card.
  • Filigree with straight border on the patterned paper.

The sizes of the paper differed and I did have to line the dies up on the paper in order to get them positioned correctly but I think the effect worked really well.

The stamp was one of the floral sets from Tonic Studios designed by Ruth Hamilton, coloured with Spectrum Noirs and then cut and layered onto some standard circles and scallop circles from Spellbinders.

Hi John, lovely card,,I have these curved border set of dies, wouldn’t have thought to use them in this way.Is the bow made with a die? MM x

No, the bow was a cut from the Cricut but there are HOTP templates that might give you the same result.

Love this card John, these dies are now on my next ‘must-have-soon’ list after seeing it on your show. I’m glad I recorded your shows, I can now refer back when needed. I think you will become a national treasure soon, I like your style. When will you be back on TV?

This is just so striking and so colourful. I shall definitely take inspiration from your creation when I receive my dies. You are such a talented man and I love your zest and zeal for crafting of all kinds.
