Woodware Ancient Mandala Card by John Bloodworth Gentleman Crafter (8)

Be You!

A wee reminder for all of us in today’s short make and a way to re-use that ancient mandala from the other day too.

Ready? Ok, let’s start…

To begin this card I started out by stamping the Ancient Mandala by Woodware from Craft Stash twice in French Ultramarine archival ink.

I then coloured one of these impressions with Wilted Violet Distress Ink, and the other with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

The blue layer was then cut down and glued to the top of the purple layer.

For a little extra detail I used a black mis-stamp and coloured it with Wilted Violet Distress Ink and then ripped off the edge. This was then glued on top of the blue layer.

Some Nuvo drops were then used to create raised embellishments on the points of the mandala.

All of this was layered onto a black mat with foam tape.

To create a little sentiment I reached for one of my recent purchases from Simon Says Stamp.

It is called ‘Be’ Sentiments.

Cute and VERY versatile!

Anyway, this was stamped onto white cardstock. Cut with a circle die and then layered onto a black circular mat.

This was applied to the card with foam tape.

As a final touch, I added some waxed cord to the sentiment topper, using the Nuvo Drops as the adhesive.

I really like the way the waxed cord looks a little like it’s an extension of the ‘be’ sentiment.

The knot was a bit of a subtle hint to remember to ‘be you’.

Ok, that’s it for this one. I hope you enjoyed it.

  1. Great card especially the sentiment, Although I like the stamp you have used, in my honest opinion you have so many lovely Mandalas from your ‘Mandala Monday’s’ you could have cut one of them out on your S&C and used that :) Have a great day, Thanks for sharing.
