Artist Trading Card Daily – 108

Does happiness find us or do we seek it? That is the question.

Well, I think that the free stamp that came with the September 2014 issue of Craft Stamper magazine may have given me a clue…

Seek it – I know that I do but as I am sure some of you may know, finding it can be like seeking a rare species of fish in a whole ocean (sorry for the reference, I have just been watching a fascinating documentary of rare fish and how there are still some species that we have only glimpsed a couple of times but that have been around for millions of years).

So anyway, my mind being the way that it is, I came up with this.

You’ve probably guessed all of the metaphors involved here so the ‘why’ is covered so here is the ‘how’.

The background was Colorburst. This was an off cut again that I deliberately cropped down to make the crashing waves – afterall, it’s a tumultuous and constantly churning beast through which we search …

I glazed it with some clear nail varnish to make it look a little wetter.

Then I added the stentiment. I popped it at the top rather than the middle or bottom as I wanted it to be separate from the ‘sea’. It also meant that the waves that were rising were only just reaching it, signifying the struggle to find happiness – oh, apparently there more metaphors, lol!

Anyway, there really wasn’t any more to this one. Plain and simple.

What did you think? Did the message mean the same to you?

  1. I’m mostly a happy person, even if it doesn’t always show. I love doing what I do, especially crafting. Keep up the great work.
