Coo-eee, I’ve Moved, I’m Kinda Back, I’ve Made A Mess and I’ve Been Making More Secret Stuff …

Well, a while back I left you all to fend for yourselves whilst I moved house. I am VERY pleased to say that it’s now done and everything is in.

Cannot tell you how grateful I am as it appeared that more ‘stuff’ has been collected since moving out of the motorhome a couple of years ago and the place needed a coat of paint before I handed back the keys.

Living in that ^ mess for a few weeks with the ever-present aroma of gloss and emulsion was not funny.

Anyway, the result of that effort was SOOOOO worth it as I am now living here!

A wee slice of idyllic countryside far enough from the beaten track to be considered remote. You can probably tell that from the long dirt track that leads to my home in the photo that accompanied this post.

The views from inside are ok too.

Inside is taking shape.

I’ve got the basic layout of how I would like it to be down, I just need to add some more furniture, sort things into their ‘proper’ places and perhaps spruce up the decor a little with some of my work.

One of my neighbours is super friendly. She even likes head massages and will often come to say hello and chill out with me.

I have a wee secret garden but also access to a wider area that is well established with a whole bunch of green things and coloured wotsits – you may have guessed by that that I am not particularly green fingered.

Thank heavens that the garden doesn’t have to rely on me for survival!

Anyhoo, I may not be green fingered but this week I was brown fingered – which sounds distinctly horrid however it was because I was shovelling out a hole with my hands into which a green cone could be installed.

It’s one of those composting things that allows you to put all of your food waste in including shells and bones and saves it going to the landfill.

The crafting has been continuing sporadically, hence why output on the blog has been fairly one-track, but I’ve been working on a variety of things that I hope to share in the near future.

The craft mess is already spreading, of course.

On top of all of that, I have been working on a couple of secret projects which are almost ready to be shared but for now, I shall simply have to pop up a couple of pictures and let your imaginations work away.

Intriguing, eh?

Anyhoo, I didn’t move out of Scotland – just from the West coast to the East coast – and therefore still have an excuse to have a wee nip at the end of a long day, sooo….

I reckon that I will be happy here for a good while, don’t you?

Tata for now and see you soon – probably even on your TV *wink!

Oh, rude of me not to ask, how have you been?

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to sharing more with you soon!

Bye for now.

J :)

  1. Yay! Onwards and upwards John! – Somehow I think things are changing for you, for the better! – What a gorgeous spot for you and what a difference to being cramped into Maisy! – And a lovely Doglet to come and love you in between times. Tranquility in the garden with a good book when those horrid ‘f’ things turn up for a visit! – Hopefully, they wont find you there.
I can see there are some fab crafty ideas heading our way and am looking forward to the big reveal!
First and foremost, look after YOURSELF self first!
    Enjoy! Xxx

  2. Wow wow and wow, the house and location looks amazing, feeling so jealous. Sending you lots of love and best wishes and hope that you will have fun and lots of happy times in your new home. 💖🏡

  3. As others have said WOW. What a lovely spot. And I think your new pal is a stunner. Looking forward to your promise of a TV appearance soon. Hope we get lots of warning. I have bought a hot foil machine, and love the look of your big background dies, but so far had no luck finding them. Not even on the ever open eBay shop. With your creative abilities I am sure you will soon be wowing us all with not only fabulous craft projects, but new gardening ideas. Once again a warm welcome to what I hope will be your very happy hope for many years. Lois

  4. WOW John your new place looks amazing better than looking out on houses and traffic, I’m sure you’ll be very happy there especially with neighbours like that to keep you company. Looking forward to seeing back on tv though a longer commute for you now.
Keep safe and happy. Nancy x

  5. I am jealous; it looks absolutely gorgeous. The only thing wrong was the electricity wires seen in one photo; but, then, can’t live without it! Hope you will be very happy and comfortable there.

PS Shouldn’t you be drinking Scotch instead of American whiskey??? (tongue in cheek)

  8. Hi John.
As you know, I have just moved too n I am starting to feel overwhelmed. Initially my creative room was sort of organised and usable n then making space for new bed meant it got filled up with non craft stuff. Now every room needs stuff doing but…
you have inspired me to get my creative space back kuz other people’s ideas of priority shouldn’t trump mine!! A bit of creative indulgence will reward me for getting other stuff done or settle my head to go do a bit.
Your new living space is awesome!
