Scan N Cut Saturday Video Tutorial – Create Unique Draw/Fill Patterns Using Basic Shapes in Canvas Workspace.

Well, it has been a while since I have created any Scan N Cut content for YouTube but with the first of a series of new videos being released this week, I thought I’d best let you all know about it.

This one stems from a question that I answered in a Facebook Group recently and it was about draw/fill patterns.

Now, in the Scan N Cut machine itself you are limited to patterns formed from straight lines however there is a “cheat” or, as the youth call these things, a “hack” that we can use to create our own drawn patterns and it uses freely available patterns already available in Canvas Workspace.

Here is the one that I made in the video that I will be sharing later.

For those new to me, yes, I do go a little faster in the YouTube videos these days but that is because I have provided a range of courses that teach the basics.

If you do need guidance on the basic operations of the machine, please do check out my full “Brother Scan N Cut – Cut, Draw and Scan with Confidence” course on Udemy. It’s crammed with over 14 hours of on-demand video right from setting your Scan N Cut up, all the way through the three key functions of cutting, drawing and scanning on both the CM and DX models and also covers using both versions of Canvas Workspace software too!

Oh, and whilst I am shamelessly plugging things, did you know that I have designed THOUSANDS of SVG cutting files?

No? Well do check out my store on the Creative Fabrica marketplace asap to find some right corkers.

Right, that’s enough of that.

Ready for the video? Ok, just click play and enjoy :)

That’s about it for this one.

Hope you enjoyed that tutorial and will give it a go yourself. If you do, and would like to share your creations with me you can find all of my social media links at the top of this page.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to sharing more with you soon!

Bye for now.

J :)

  1. Great tutorial John.
I realy didn’t know that the machine starts drawing from the bottom, I have wondered before how I could avoid stains from, for example, a gel pen, so thank you so much for this tip!
unfortunately I still haven’t been able to try out my pen holders.
Thank you so much for this great tutorial, stay safe and have a great Sunday.

  3. Fantastic tutorial, thanks so much. Your Canvas Workspace Udemy Course has been so helpful to me; this tutorial arrived just after having completed the Paths section, so it was brilliantly-timed for me.
