Handmade Christmas Card

Christmas Quickies With Couture Creations – 6

Sheesh, Christmas is really just around the corner isn’t it? As usual I am in no way ready but at least I have been have the chance to do some festive makes thanks to Couture Creations.

For this festive posting I set out to create a design using some small corners dies.

The corner dies were from the The Gift Of Giving papercraft collection from Couture Creations, and this was the result.

Stuff Used

  • CO727945 – Paper Pack – Merry Little Christmas – Sheet 04
  • CO727922 – Tis The Season Mini Die
  • CO727917 – Holly Frame Mini Die Set
  • CO726766 – Nesting Dream Catcher
  • ULT200033 – Verdant Cardstock
  • ULT200066 – Blood Red Cardstock
  • Adhesive Gemstones
  • CO724389 – Glue Pen – Turbo Precision

Steps

First I cut some red and patterned paper to mat and layer onto a 6 inch greetings card blank.

I then cut out two 95mm squares of green cardstock and several 65mm wide strips of red cardstock. From the red strips, four of the small corner die were cut and also twelve of the larger corner die.

Four large corners were glued around the edge of one green square and this was fixed to the red/patterned card.

I then trimmed down four of the larger corners so that they would but up to the edge of the square just made and glued them in place.

The remaining eight corners (four small and four large) were then glued to the other green square using the Turbo Glue Pen.

This was then fixed to the front of the card using foam pads.

A small circle was then cut from the patterned paper and glued to the centre of the green panel.

From red cardstock I cut the smaller of the nesting dream catcher designs. You don’t have to use this particular die but it’s a great way of using those smaller frame dies or aperture die cuts that you aren’t sure how to use.

Some green gems were then glued around this die cut and it was fixed in place on the card using foam pads.

To finish, I added a paper bow and die cut sentiment, which is also from The Gift of Giving collection from Couture Creations.

As an alternative, and if you have them, you could use a bottle cap and resin dome to create a more dimensional centre piece.

There you go. Little corners, big potential!
