30 Days Of Card Making 18

Day 18 – 30 Days Of Card Making

Back mucking about with mixed media backgrounds today.

Regular readers of this blog will know why I am doing this mini challenge in order to reunite my mojo with my craft space. To follow the full journey, you can find all related post in the 30 Days Of Card Making archive.

Ok, on with today’s creation.

This one started out with some texture paste through a poetic stencil. It was left to dry and then coated in turquoise acrylic paint and left to dry again.

A coat of blue and pink wax paste was then brushed roughly over it which highlighted the text well.

Mojo or craft space wanted to use foiling too so “we” used some doubled sided tape to fix some hot-foil to a piece of card and then chopped it out with a feather – carrying on the hand-scrawled poem feel.

Seemed a waste to cover to much of the background so one of “us” popped on a die cut panel and a die cut word to finish this one off.

Turned out nice again. Say that without “that voice”.

Right! Well over half way. Will be honest, I’m flagging a bit trying to motivate these two so heck knows what is going to turn up over the next couple of days but we will never-the-less try so hope to see you back here tomorrow.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks for reading today’s progress. Hope you will join me tomorrow to see how mojo, craft space and I get on with your journey.

Much love,

J x.

Byeeee!

  1. Well I must say I think you 3 are working very well together. This makes a lovely masculine card, which I do struggle with sometimes. So thank you for this one, love it!

  2. Is it the two of them against you at this stage, or all three of you against each other? You wouldn’t know from your cards, most of which I have loved. They are all so clever even the ones that aren’t so much my “style” whatever that is…… xx

  3. Keep going John you can do it and we’re loving what you three are up to! You have not lost your mojo at all in my opinion! I love the background technique. Everything you’ve done has made me remember all the techniques that I used to live doing and haven’t done for so long so thank you! Wx

  4. I have mainly male family members and always struggle to come up with ideas for their cards but this very nice one could fit the bill, if only I could do lovely backgrounds like you.

  5. Absolutely love this card John. I think you have the three working together very well. Adore the theme and think you did well to keep it all together with the feather. Lovely symmetry to it. Can’t wait for tomorrinspiration.
