30 Days Of Card Making 13

Day 13 – 30 Days Of Card Making

Tie-dye, on a card? Kinda.

Regular readers of this blog will know why I am doing this mini challenge in order to reunite my mojo with my craft space. To follow the full journey, you can find all related post in the 30 Days Of Card Making archive.

Ok, on with today’s creation.

This one begin with some “mucking about”. I was actually trying to do something else entirely but instead, ended up with this.

How?

Well, alcohol markers were dabbed onto a piece of kitchen paper. I then chucked on some alcohol based hand sanitiser – the liquid type, rather than the gel type – and let it dry. This was then stuck to a piece of card and left to dry again. Finally, a coat of Mod Podge was spread over the whole thing.

The card was then trimmed down and punched through using a couple of alpha dies to crop out the word HI. The result was stuck to another piece of card, slightly large than the tie-dyed one, and mounted onto the front of an A6 card with a large piece of self adhesive foam.

It’s kinda got an impressionist feel about it.

Great idea for using up all of those wet wipes and tissues that we use to clean the craft mat with after messy play time, right?

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks for reading today’s progress. Hope you will join me tomorrow to see how mojo, craft space and I get on with your journey.

Much love,

J x.

  1. Your card looks like the effect you get with that shiny card stuffand alcohol inks but i prefer your effect as im not keen on the shiny part. Keep up your inspirational work your mojo seems to be hanging around.
My craft space still every where, needs to be sorted as my Mums craft stash needs to be inherited by me, my sibling not interested. other than her quilling stash. Seriously lucky me.

  2. Well I would never have guessed how you did it, but, wow, it’s really effective. I’ll have to give that a try. You’re less than half way through your 30 day challenge and I truly feel that mojo and craft space have made it up and are working together a treat. Wonderful John xx

  5. Wow John. What a beautiful card made from what I would have thrown in the bin. It just goes to prove how wasteful.I am. Love it. I have a dried wet wipe that has watercour on it but I am going to play with alcohol markers now. Thanks as always for sharing. Keep up the inspiration. Jx
