30 Days Of Card Making 3

Day 3 – 30 Days Of Card Making

Bit of a mish mash of techniques for today’s card.

Regular readers of this blog will know why I am doing this mini challenge in order to reunite my mojo with my craft space. To follow the full journey, you can find all related post in the 30 Days Of Card Making archive.

Ok, on with today’s creation.

30 Days Of Card Making 3

“We” – mojo, craft space and I – began by mucking about with an embossing folder, watercolour inks and waxes to create the background strip.

Having decided that the strip effect was nice and “clean” a die was used to crop out the sentiment – which itself was shaded with some ink to tone it down – and this was mounted onto the card with foam pads.

Someone – I think it was craft space – decided that they wanted two sparkly brads to balance it all out.

Ok, third day complete! Phew!

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks for reading today’s progress. Hope you will join me tomorrow to see how mojo, craft space and I get on with your journey.

Much love,

J x.

  1. Dear John I know how you feel but the one thing that has kept me sane is the fact that I have your MAY S V G BUNDLE and when I have a go at trying some thing I then find quite a few hours have gone I am so happy now that I brought it so when you feel UG go back to your bundals and mess around so we can all stay sane together

  2. Thank you for sharing John, it is a beautiful card, and I really like your craft mat, it looks like it would make card marking so much easier. What make is it please?

    • The brand is Jakar, but i rarely use it for card making as it revolves and had no “brakes”. Instead I mostly use it for papercutting as I can turn the mat as I work. Hence why it’s getting used to shoot these photos as its not a proper mess. Lol.

      • It sounds like it would be great for when I’m watercolouring, I quite often turn my painting upside down or on its side. Thanks for the info John. xx

  3. Lovely card John. Didn’t get a card finished yesterday as sorting out what card I wanted for Christmas cards, did some colouring for two birthday cards so need putting together now.

  4. Fantastic card John. I am just going through a process of ‘rediscovering’ my embossing folder collection so it’s great to get some outside inspiration. 💕 Clare x

  5. Lovely and clean finish. The brads add that little bit of “something” that really finishes it off. Giving me lots of ideas for future makes x

  6. Hi John. Looks to me like mojo, craft space and you have finally decided to get your heads together, because you’re creating some lovely cards so far. I’m back at work now after being on furlough for about 3 months, so I’m ready for crafting at the weekends to chill out. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your creations. Kath x
