Creating A Bespoke Gift With Hatch Embroidery Digitzing Software

Anchors Away! Combining Designs In Hatch Embroidery Digitizer 2, Plus, Adding Some Lettering.

Watcha. It was a friend’s birthday recently and she enjoys going out on the [very cold] sea and doing some competitive yachting – sounds fancy and energetic, right?!

Anyhoo, I wanted to make something home crafted for her and thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to crack out the embroidery machine.

Here is the finished design in the Hatch Embroidery Digitizing software.

In the software I had already assigned some colours but had to wait while they were sent through from Plush Addicts – a quite speedy thing as they arrived before I’d even thought to check in for a dispatch note!

I mean, realistically I have a whole bunch of threads but no combo of these seemed to work. Not sure why, it’s a creative thing, apparently.

After the embroidery thread arrived I had a dig through the fabric stash and picked out a few colours that I thought would work.

I did a test run on some black fabric which, although nice enough, didn’t really help the design stand out.

I also tried a version on the steel grey fabric but this wasn’t ideal either so I went on an did a third version on the pastel mint fabric …

… perfect!

Simple and quick to put together but I think that it sums up her love of the ocean and is nice and colourful.

To finish, I popped the design into a hoop frame so she could hang it where-ever she sees fit. Nobody say “the loo”.

The process involved combining a couple of designs, adding some lettering and recolouring the design. Easy stuff in the Hatch Embroidery Digitizing software. If you are interested in the process, you might like to watch this video that I recorded at the time …

If you haven’t already closed this window down, and while you are here nibbling that biscuit and sipping that tea, if you would like to see more of the bits and pieces that I have been creating with Hatch Embroidery digitizing software then please feel to pop along and check out the embroidery archive.

Many thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed this post.

Hope to share more embroidery adventures soon.
