Couture Creations Design Team

Made It Onto A Design Team! Woo Hoo!

A little excited today as I have got some new friends! I got an email the other day that said I had made it onto the Couture Creations design team for 2018/19! How awesome!?

As you would expect, it’s not just me. There are in fact a group of super talented crafters that have been given this honour too so I thought that it would be cool to share their details so you can see more inspiration for the fabby GoPress and Foil system along with other goodys from the Couture Creations range over the coming months.

I’ll not bore you with the waffle on this post as the ladies bios should give you enough to go on and there are links to each persons’ online arena so you can check out more of their work if you would like.

Ok, let’s get this intro show on the road!

I have been scrapbooking, card and paper crafting for over 20 years. It is a hobby and my creative outlet which I am totally passionate about. I believe that preserving memories is important. You will always find me in my craft room creating, experimenting with different techniques and playing with new products.

My mission is to inspire others to give it a go. Another passion of mine is creating altered art pieces, turning everyday items into works of art.

My work has been shared on many paper-crafting Design Teams and published in many paper-crafting magazines around the world. I am so excited to be creating again for Couture Creations, along with the other talented Design Team Members, we hope to inspire you all with our projects.

Hi, I am Anet, my journey in card making started one day standing in a Magazine shop looking through craft magazines. I thought it will be nice to make my own cards for someone special.

I have been making cards for 7 years. I like to craft, colour, using dies and mixed media to create and design cards. I like exploring new techniques and keeping abreast of new products that I can incorporate in my card designs.

I am very lucky to be on some fantastic design teams who support and encourage me. Being on different design teams inspires me to improve even more in my card designs.

You can find Anet’s creations over on her blog: https://anetscrafting.blogspot.com

Cheryl Wright has been making cards for as long as she can remember. She steals every possible moment to play in her craft room, mostly making cards, but also dabbles in art journaling and canvases. In addition, she makes the occasional mini album, which so far, have all been given to friends. She is a great fan of mixed media and loves getting inky.

She supplies two local outlets with her cards and uses cardmaking for relaxation.

In her “spare time” Cheryl writes romance novels (in a variety of sub-genres), which can often prove challenging. She has been married for more than 43 years, has two adult children and six teenage grandchildren, some of whom share her love of crafting.

My name is Collette and I have been in love with paper all my life.

I remember cutting out and collecting those little paper dolls and their amazing wardrobes from a very young age; I still hunt them out today! I opened a craft shop 14 years ago and of course, I had a HUGE paper crafting department. I really enjoyed running classes and had an amazing group of ladies who come week after week, some for 14 years! Although I love all forms of paper play, I am a passionate card maker and have a love of the more unusual ‘foundation’ cards.

A few years ago I won Australia’s Card Maker of the Year, and feature most months in a variety of card making magazines. I have also been on a few Design Teams which has been amazing fun! I am a passionate YouTuber and love to bring my more creative cards to life with YouTube classes and am blessed to have thousands of followers from all around the world.

Collette’s creations can be seen at: http://lillybits.blogspot.com/

Based in Bedfordshire in the UK. I’ve done various types of paper and needle craft for as long as I can remember (I remember my grandmother teaching me embroidery when I was 6 years old).

I’ve spent many years working in IT support before starting my family, and also as an Adult Education tutor teaching beginner IT and computer graphics courses.

I really got into card making early in 2016, having seen the demonstrations on TV shopping channels, and to begin with a focus on die cutting, and then also started to use stamping and heat embossing on my cards. I had a GoPress & Foil as a Christmas present, and now use it with almost every card I make. I love figuring out how to do things and sharing what I learn with others.

I started my paper journey officially in about 2000 as a shop assistant in a speciality paper store in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa after having studied Pastoral Psychology.

Whilst I have been playing with paper and creating my own masterpieces at home for friends and family since the age of 10, the shop environment added the vast knowledge of handmade and imported paper as well as the common commercial types of paper.

I also started teaching card making, stamping and altered art in store at the time. Scrapbooking has been a natural extension of my love for card making and stamping that also accommodates my love and passion for photography. I currently teach regular classes and host workshops around South Africa that mainly focus on different techniques, stamping, and how to incorporate them into your scrapbooking and card making.

I am Lea-Anne Alexander, 55 and living in the friendly city of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.

I married John, spending 31 wonderful years together.

I have been crafting for most of my life and started my cottage craft business in 2006 in Cape Town. My focus since then has been designing, creating, teaching and selling unique handmade greeting cards, tags and gift bags, gift hampers and paper jewellery made from recycled magazines pages.

I love sharing and interacting with fellow creative people to explore and complete projects using beautiful paper and embellishments. I am adventurous and enjoy experimenting and pushing the boundaries. I love working with new products and learning techniques that I can share with others.

I endeavour to find ways of using everyday items incorporating them into craft projects. I am blessed in having a very supportive family which allows me to focus full time on my craft business, creating beautiful craft projects, publishing my designs and creations and sharing my passion with fellow crafty friends. I sell and promote my handmade paper craft projects at a local gift, corporate, schools and individual orders, at a monthly craft market and host regular workshops with our craft group.

I am a firm believer in recycling, re-use, recreate, upcycle and using your stash to the maximum. I am currently on the FabScraps Throwback Thursday Design Team, belong to the Nelson Mandela Business Chamber, Business Woman’s Network and PE Camera Club.

I’m Goga from Warsaw in Poland and I have been scrapping since 2011. I like to create colourful scrapbooking works with stamps, stickers, die cuts and dies.

I’m writing a scrapbook blog at Goga Crafts.com and have a one of a kind project – Psss. Goga’s Spying Frenzy fan page at Facebook about advertising scrapbooking companies from all over the world.

My name is Michelle and in the online world, some of you might also know me as Mrs Frizz.

I love to create with paper, cardstock, paint, mists, gesso, metal dies, canvases, flowers, chipboard, off the page projects.

I love adding ‘bitsers’ to my creativity. I love to play a little, that really should say, I love to be creative. I work full time as an executive assistant, but when I’m not at work, friends and family know that they can find me at home in my craft room.

You can normally find me playing, oops, that really should read, creating in my messy crafty space – it makes me happy. It’s my ‘me’ time, it’s what I do to relax. I enjoy cardmaking, making tags, mixed media, anything paper related, altered art and off the page projects and yes, I do still create the occasional scrapbook layout and I love making little boxes for little treasures and trinkets for friends and family.

Michelle will be sharing her makes on her blog: https://frisbys.blogspot.com

What a fab team! Can’t wait to get stuck in and share some inspiration over the coming months but for now, I shall have to sign off and go and crack on with some more design work. Deadlines are looming!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you find the time to pop over and take a look at the makes from the rest of the team.

Bye for now.

J :)
