Ok, if you recall, in part 1 there were just three ingredients we needed to make our paint pouring mix.

• Acrylic Paint
• PVA Glue
• Tap Water

To get the right ratio you will need whatever you have chosen to be your measuring ‘cup’. In my case, I am using shot glasses.

The ratio that you will need to work with is 1:1:1

This means that you will need the same amount of paint, glue and water.

It really is that simple.

You can put as little or as much as you like in your measuring pots you just need to make sure that you match them on the same ratio. Therefore if you only half fill your first pot, then half fill the other two.

The only change to this recipe is if you intend on using heavy body paints. If so, then you may need to either reduce the amount of paint by about 1/4 or add an additional 1/4 measure of glue and water to the mix to make it the right consistency.

Once you have measured out your ingredients, fill your mixing beaker of choice with the ingredients in this order – water>glue>paint and then thoroughly stir these together until they form a smooth creamy liquid. It will look something like batter mix or cream.

By adding the water first, this prevents the first two ingredients sticking to the base of the beaker and gives a quicker mixing time.

Once mixed it will look something like batter mix or thin cream.

You will need to repeat this for each of the colours that you want to use in your pour.
