All Counties Craft Challenge Diary – At The NEC, Workshops A Go-Go and Maisy’s MOT.

Sheesh! It’s been a hectic and exhausting couple of weeks so I’ve got a fair amount to tell you about if you’ve got a bit of time.

When I left you in the last diary post I had just delivered Maisy to the NEC at just gone midnight in order for her to be ready for her public appearance at the Stitching Sewing and Hobbycrafts show.

It takes a lot of hard work to set up something on this scale and lots of last minute tidying …

All worth it though.

Just in time to as the queues started building early in the morning.

Each day the lovely Sam held a team briefing and we were all grown up and listened attentively.

Naughty boy I am, hehe.

Sadly we weren’t there just to muck about, we were there to offer out the postcard colouring books that Create and Craft TV created in order to help raise more money for the challenge.

I am very happy to say that they went down a treat!

More on that later though.

On the Friday and Saturday Maisy and I had the company of these two lovely ladies.

If you’ve not already met them, they are Julie Peasgood and Wendy Turner-Webster, otherwise known as The Crafty Beggars.

We were glad to have the help as it was quite busy with people walking through the Create and Craft boulevard all through the day.

Mind you, I still got chance to do a spot of colouring.

And so did Dan.

Tuts. I’m sure he’s supposed to be meeting and greeting or something.

Oh well, if someone’s looking after Maisy then I may as well go chat to folk.

Managed to have a quick catch up with these lovely folk …

Also I met so many of you lovely folk and those that had been following the challenge – just spent my time chatting and not taking photos tho – d’oh!

Lol, oh well, was lovely nonetheless.

By end of day 3 I was pooped!

*snores loudly*

This calls for healthy energy giving food on day 4.

Hehe. Well, a sugar rush was better than nothing.

Even this guy was ready for his lunch and an afternoon nap.

Poor fella eh? Lol ;)

Well, the weekend flew by and I had to wait whilst the show was dismantled before I could get Maisy out of the hall.

Ive not seen this end of the show before, want to see it too?

Carnage basically. Not sure if a bulldozer could have done a better job!

Mind you, I can’t criticise as Maisy was not better. We basically lobbed stuff in and shut the doors in the hope that nothing fell out.

Amazing how just four days could affect things so much isn’t it?!

This isn’t the end of the catch up though, I’ve been to two Counties and done three workshops since then!

Please don’t forget that I am doing this tour in order to raise awareness of mental health issues and to raise money for Mind, the mental health charity.

If you would like to contribute and help me reach that £20k target you can do so in three ways.

  1. Make a donation on my Just Giving page.
  2. Make a donation via the Create & Craft TV website, for an additional P&P charge of £2.99 you will also be sent an official challenge postcard colouring book.
  3. Attend a workshop. To find out if there is one coming up near you, please visit the itinerary page on this blog.

  1. Hiya John

Oh yes, when you don’t want the stress it’ll come in two’s or threes every time! Hey at least you get a night of a luxurious flushing loo. I sure Maisy is in good hands though and will come through just fine. You’ve had a really busy week or so, hoping NEC was successful for fundraising. Looks like the workshops have been a lot of fun and I hope the next is just as successful.

Take care of yourself, hugs, T x
