Managed to sneak in a little playtime again today and have been working again with the range of products sent to me by Georgina Ford of Designs By Georgina.
I also have a little giveaway too!
First up, here is what I made.
Loved how this all came together and the fact that the stamp gave some nice open spaces in which to work.
The stamp used for this was the Holly Tag rubber stamp.
The first step to the creation of this tent card was to stamp out the design onto watercolour cardstock with Archival ink.
I then moved on to using watercolour paints to start filling in the outline of the stamp design.
I liked the mottled effect that I was getting with this medium so I let it dry that way – I thought that layer on I would glaze it so that it had the waxy look of real holly.
Turning my attention to the background I chose cooler colours of purple and blue to flood fill the larger areas and then hints of red to give contrast and detail to the ribbon border.
Once the paint had dried I glazed the holly and the berries and added some gems to the sparkle bits on the fronds that extend from the central design.
I wanted to add a tiny bit more dimension to this though so I grabbed three simple plain faux pearls, colour them with alcohol markers (red for the berries) and then set them in place with Pinflair glue gel.
Finishing the tag was a basic affair with simple mat/layers of cardstock to coordinate with the colours of the main tag design.
I also added some red raffia through an eyelet that I had set in place.
For the tent card I added some faux stitching to match that of the tag and used the sentiment that came with the Holly Tag and stamped this in the lower corner of the card.
And that my friends was the card complete.
