I have been having a go at making gifts bags this week. Something I’ve not really tried before but with the big ‘C’ coming up I thought that I’d like to have a go this year.

This project started out with the Poinsettia Gift Tag Stamp from Designs by Georgina. I stamped this out onto Kraft card using an Archival Inkpad; this was then cut out around the outer edge.

I knew already that I was going down the DIY decoupage route so I added some shadows with a range of grey Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I also added some detail over the original lines with a gold glitter pen. A metallic pens was used for the outer edge of the tag too.

Again using archival ink I repeat stamped (four times) the tag design onto some Super Smooth cardstock and coloured in the Poinsettia areas of the design. Subsequently smaller areas were then coated in Anita’s Clear gloss and left to dry.

Oh, did I mention the glitter glue went on first – I seem to have a thing for this at the moment. It must be something to do with the time of year! Lol.

Each layer was then cut out and layered onto the previous one using Pinflair glue gel.

The Merry Christmas sentiment also came with the Poinsettia Gift Tag Stamp from Designs by Georgina. This was stamped out in brown Memento ink, cropped out with a square punch and then outlined with the same metallic pen that I had used to outline the tag earlier.

As a final little flutter I added some gems & glitter glue (more?!) to the centre of the Poinsettias and some raffia through an eyelet which I had set in place with my Cropodile.

This finished design was then mounted onto a brown paper bag that had already had a few layers of themed decorative cardstock added to it before I started this (I was planning a bag project for sometime however it was Georgina’s stamp that reminded me that I had it in that special place).

So, that just about sums it up.

I was very impressed with this and loved the way the stamp design lent itself to this technique.
