Artist Trading Card Daily – 109

Well, those Colorburst offcuts just keep on giving. This time I thought that the splatters looked a little like pollen or scent wafting in the warm winds and how sweetly scented they would be.

Probably not a good thing to remind me of today as I have been sniffling my way through a good run of hayfever recently and really wish it would do one.

Anyway, staying on a happier note, I paired the background up with another from the free stamp set that I got with issue 25 of Creative Stamping magazine.

This is what I created.

Not a huge deal of technique involved here. The background was obviously ready made thanks to the little offcut so I layered that up onto some red cardstock.

For the floral embellishment I stamped out the design several times onto plain white cardstock and then coloured it in with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I then chopped it out with scissors and layered it up with foam pads, thereby giving it the effect of 3D decoupagé.

A few little gems were then applied to the dots on the frond trails (from the stamped image) and also in the centre of the flowers.

And that, was that!

So there we have it. Another little artwork made – onto number 110 !!!

What did you think to this one? Was it a little obvious plonking the floral design in the middle of the ATC or does it work where it is?
