The Artist Trading Card challenge continues with number 101.
For this one I wanted to use up some off cuts of paper that I had trimmed from a previous Color Burst creation.
As you can see there was a little colour bleed and some faded blues and pinks on these off cuts.
To start I chose a piece that had quite a bit of white still showing and stamped on the sentiment (from Creative Expressions) and then trimmed this down into a pennant shape. I then added shading to the edge with a grey alcohol marker and black Indian ink pen.
I already had in mind that I was going to display this as if it were a notice on a pole so I added two pearls to the top to act as nail heads.
The pole was created by chopping down a barbecue stick with my Tonic scissors and then colouring it with a burgundy coloured alcohol marker.
For the background I chose a faded mostly colour filled area and then used from Impression Obsession doode flower background stamp to add a floral overlay to it.
Everything was layered onto the black pinstripe cardstock.
And that was number 101 complete!
What do you think? Do you save all of your offcuts and scraps too? I have a large box full of them. Sometimes I just rummage for no reason …
Anyway, if you have any comments or questions about this post then please feel free to use the comments section below.
Thanks for reading and I will see you again soon!

Hi John
Catching up… I love it, such a lovely sentiment. Can imagine this mounted on a pretty background paper on a card with some die cut flowers.
