Artist Trading Card Daily 96 Using Spectrum Noir Pencils

Artist Trading Card Daily – 96

Hello again! How are you?

For today’s mini coloured creation I have been using the Spectrum Noir pencils along with the Paper Milk cardstock from Paper Cutz.

Before a quick explanation of how I did that, here is the finished ATC.

I am very impressed with myself on this one.

This one started out with the Miss Hood digi from Make It Crafty.

I began to colour and blend with Zest It pencil blending solution. The Paper Milk cardstock took both really well – you can see the difference here.

After applying and blending I also went back in with some light strokes of deeper colours to give the image it’s depth. The fine pencils strokes showed up beautifully.

To add a little finishing touch I also used the pencils and blending solution to add some shading to the upper corners.

And that, my friends, was that.

All of the colours that I used were from the Primaries set of Spectrum Noir colouring pencils.

For anyone that is interested, you can find the cardstock from this project over at Papercutz and the digi stamp that I used was the Miss Hood digi from Make It Crafty.

Anyway, hope you like the look of this one – I’m definitely enjoying this little cardstock test series; it’s giving me chance to try all sorts of colouring medium and techniques that I don’t always get chance to do.

  1. Hi John

Another lovely job. I love Zest it pencil blend as you get lovely results with no stinky solvent smells! Another cute character, very little red riding hood

  2. So cute! Your colouring, as always, is perfect no matter which pencils or pens you use. You’re a real inspiration, spurring us all on to practice more and also try new things. I’m looking forward to trying the new paper too. Until reading your articles I didn’t realise what a difference the right type of paper could make to a project. Many thanks X

  3. Hi John, haven’t commented on anything for a long time, although I always enjoy your posts, but this is too beautiful not to say anything. Lovely image and the colouring is fantastic, I love it.
